From the academic session of 2023 to 2024, the Government of Assam established a common online admission site called SAMARTH in an attempt to streamline the admissions process for Under Graduate Programs in all Higher Education Institutes of Assam. In accordance with the New Education Policy 2020 in Assam, the SAMARTH Admission Portal makes the online admissions procedure for BA, BCom, BSc, and other programs easier.

With the goal of enabling universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through a digital framework for planning, management, delivery, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and other stakeholders, the Ministry of Education launched “Samarth” in 2019 as part of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT-II)  (now NMEICT-III). The project offers the HEIs a fully managed, cloud-based, all-inclusive ERP that is specially designed for the nation’s HEIs.

With the use of the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal, students can now apply to all of Assam’s government and aided colleges and universities and get accepted into the degree and institution of their choice. It would no longer be necessary for students to relocate in order to turn in their admission forms.

Also, students who register on the platform have the option to apply to ten different colleges. Depending on the student’s merit, admission would be granted to the college and course of choice. Not only would the gateway be practical, but students would also be saving money.
