The IIT Joint Entrance Exam’s (IIT JEE) initial part is known as JEE Main, or JEE Main 2024. For students hoping to enroll in undergraduate programs at prestigious Indian engineering universities, such IITs and NITs, the National Testing Agency administers an online computer-based exam. Thus, depending on their JEE Main scores, candidates get admitted to government-funded technical institutes such as NITs, CFTIs, and IITs. When generating the ranks or merit list, the exam conducting authority takes into account the highest NTA score. Moreover, candidates may choose to show up for all or just one exam. The top 2,50,000 JEE Main candidates will also be eligible to take the JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2024 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: Candidates do not need to be a certain age to appear in the JEE (Main)-2024. The JEE (Main) – 2024 test is open to all applicants, regardless of age, who passed the class 12 or equivalent exam in 2022, 2023, or who are appearing in 2024. Nonetheless, it is possible that the candidates will need to meet the age requirements of the institute or institutes they wish to apply too. Educational Qualification:The only applicants eligible to sit in JEE (Main) – 2024 are those who passed the Class 12 or equivalent exam in 2022, 2023, or who are taking the exam in 2024. Applicants are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) -2024 if they passed the Class 12 or equivalent test in 2021 or earlier, or if they plan to take the exam in 2024 or later. State of Eligibility: The candidate’s state code of eligibility, which grants them admission to JEE (Main) – 2024, is the code of the state in which they passed the Class 12 (or similar) qualifying test. It is crucial to remember that the candidate’s place of residence or birthplace has no bearing on the State’s eligibility code.
