Assam Veterinary Recruitment 2025 under Government of Assam’s approval, as stated in letters No. E-568312/104 dated October 30, 2024, and E-568312/118 dated February 15, 2025, new applications from Indian citizens as defined by Articles 5 to 8 of the Indian Constitution are hereby invited to apply for 445 (four hundred and forty-five) positions as Veterinary Field Assistants and related cadres under the Directorate of A.H. and Veterinary, Assam, Chenikuthi, Guwahati-03. Taking into account the completed VFA trainees listed below, the position will be filled in accordance with the current opening in the relevant category of posts as per the Post Based Roster Register.

Educational Qualification	The applicant must have passed from a recognized board with a matriculation certificate or an equivalent qualification.
Age Limit	ABP.6/2016/51, a government office memo dated September 2, 2020, states that a candidate must be at least 18 years old on January 1, 2022, and over 40 years old on January 1, 2025.
Age Relaxation	-> SC/ST: 5 years -> OBC: 3 years

Educational Qualification:

The candidate must complete the HSSLC (Science) with Biology as a subject and the elementary knowledge exam for the Veterinary Science (One Year Training Course) from the approved “School of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry,” which was established by the Assam government in Ghungoor, Silchar.

Physical Standard

According to Rule 3(d), a candidate for direct recruitment to the Veterinary Field Assistant cadre must be in good mental and physical health, free of any physical defects that could seriously impair his ability to perform his duties effectively, and must pass a medical exam prior to joining the service.

Selection Procedure

The Assam Veterinary in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Subordinate Service Rules, 2002, shall govern the interview and selection criteria for the position of Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) and its related cadre positions.

According to Rule 5(I) of the Assam Public Services (Application of Small Family Norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019, the shortlisted candidates must bring all original testimonials, including Age Proof Certificate, Caste Certificate (for candidates in the reserved category), Educational Qualification Certificates, VFA Training Completion Certificate from the School of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Assam, Ghungoor, Silchar, and Declaration in Form-“A” as posted on the A.H. & Veterinary Department’s website, in order to confirm the date and time that will be announced later.

How to apply Assam Veterinary Recruitment

• The requested applicants may submit their applications using the standard form found in section IX of the Assam Gazette, together with their testimonials and a self-addressed envelope with a Rs. 5/-communication stamp attached. On or before March 6, 2025 (5:00 PM), the completed application must be delivered in person to the Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam, Chenikuthi, Guwahati-781003, via registered mail or the Drop Box during business hours.

• Candidates must securely attach one (1) copy of their most recent photo to the specified area on the application form using high-quality glue or adhesive, and they should also include an additional copy with their application. The photograph needs to have a clear signature. If the photo is detached or lost, the Directorate of A.H. & Veterinary will not be held accountable.

• The applicant must include copies of certificates, mark sheets, etc. that they have certified to be authentic copies of the original with their application, as the government has stopped the practice of providing attested copies of these documents from a competent authority.
